Rededicate selves to service, awardees told

The immediate past Acting national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alh. Abubakar Kawu Baraje, has stressed the need for national honours award recipients to re- dedicate themselves to the service of the nation.
Baraje, who spoke with newsmen in Ilorin, Kwara state shortly after a special prayer organised by his friends and associates to mark the Commander of the Order of Niger (CON) award confered on him by President Goodluck Jonathan said himself and other recipients should see the awards as a call to duty.
The former PDP boss who said he was thrilled by the recognition accorded him by his country through the award of CON pledged to re-dedicate himself to the development of Nigeria and its people.
He expressed gratitude to God, Nigeria and President Goodluck Jonathan for appreciating his contributions to the development of the country through the award bestowed on him.
He thanked the immediate past governor of Kwara state and the incumbent, Senator Bukola Saraki and Governor AbdulFatah Ahmed respectively, for their support for him, which he noted has put him at the front burner of the nation’s political affairs.
At the prayer session, the chief Imam of Iloirn, Alh. Salihu Mohammed Bashir, described the honour as well-deserved.
While urging him to continue to do his best for his community, Nigeria and humanity at large, the chief Imam prayed Allah to grant him sound health, long life and more successes in life.
