By HADI MAMMAN MASARI Although Katsina State has a traceable history of progress since its creation, some hindrances were observed in facets which include; education, youth empowerment, abandoned projects, heath care delivery, roads construction among others. Some administrations in the past including the military regime, did the little best they could in order to overcome these menace. But the positive changes could only be recorded during the Barrister Ibrahim Shehu Shema led administration. Many people including myself, had initially rejected Ibrahim Shema solely for political reasons, but the manner in which he begin to transform the state within a shortest possible time manipulate some progress loving indigene and inhabitants of the state to throw out arms and face reality, not to hide behind mere politics and keep fighting what a common man will reminiscent and shed tears someday. Katsina State Executive Council has approved the award of Six Contracts for the upgrade and the expansion of Semi-Urban Water Supply Schemes in different parts of the State. The total value of the contracts stand at Four Hundred and Fifty Four Million, Seven Hundred and Fifty Four Thousand, Four Hundred Fifty Six Naira, Sixty Three kobo. (N454,754,456.63K). The Commissioner of Water Resources Alhaji Jamilu Muhammad Danmusa who confirmed this at a joint press conference he addressed along with the Information Commissioner, Alhaji Gide Sani Batagarawa said it is the intention of Ibrahim Shema’s administration to ensure that rural communities enjoy safe and portable water to enhance their lives.
