Worried by the dilapidating structures at the State College of Education (COE), Gidan Waya in Jema’a Local Government Area, Kaduna State Governor Patrick Ibrahim Yakowa has directed the necessary ministries to take necessary actions to ensure the institution receive the needed attention.
He gave this directive yesterday during a working tour of the school and inspection of on-going projects on the campus, reiterating his government’s commitment towards the development of institution in the state.
Yakowa said the level of dilapidated structures at the College if a Grade ‘A’ reconstruction is to be undertaken at a go, it could gulp the state annual budget. He directed the Commissioner for Works Suleiman Yahaya Richifa to ensure the completion of all on-going projects at the college.

Security agents, especially the intelligence arm of the State Security Services have discovered documents and other plans meant to set up Kaduna Governor Sir Patrick Ibrahim Yakowa for purported presidential ambition to set him against political stakeholders in the country, religious leaders and prominent northern leaders.
Coming after the governor denied any presidential ambition attributing such rumour to the handiwork of blackmailers and visionless politicians, security sources said the plans were perfected just to set the governor against people who would see him in a negative light.
According to one of the sources, “letters were craftly perfected and purportedly written from the office of the governor with all sorts of accolades and addressed to various individuals across the country soliciting for their supports for the Presidential ambition of the governor come 2015”.

Kaduna CONTRARY to speculations in some quarters, Kaduna State Governor Sir Patrick Ibrahim Yakowa said he has no interest in anything come 2015, describing rumours to that effect as the handiwork of mischief-makers. Answering questions at the New Nigerian Forum yesterday, Yakowa said anyone in Kaduna should not even be talking about 2015 now.
He attributed the rumours about his ambition for 2015 to the handiwork of mischievous and reckless politicians who, out of idleness, organise meetings and discuss all sorts of things. “That is the height of mischief and mischief makers, they are at work. KADUNA Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines, and Agriculture (KADCCIMA) in league with Enhancing Nigerian Advocacy for a Better Business Environment (ENABLE) has called upon the Kaduna State Government to streamline the multiple, illegal taxation, which it said, is the order of the day in the state.
Decrying the situation, KADCCIMA media consultant, Alhaji Kabir Dangogo, said the chamber identified multiple, illegal taxation through a research which provides ample evidence that businesses are being stifled, owing largely to the multiplicity of taxes people are subjected to from both the local government areas and the state, and which in most cases are duplications.
The net effect, he averred, is low compliance by tax-payers, thus denying the government of vital internally-generated revenue, even as he pointed out that there is a lack of tax-payer education coupled with leakages in the collected revenue.

The wife of the Kaduna State governor, Mrs. Amina Yakowa , has distributed sewing and knitting machines to 75 women in Jaba local government area of the State, under her special poverty alleviation programme for women in the State.
Represented by the wife of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chairman Mrs Naomi Bajoga, Mrs Yakowa charged the women not to sell the machines but use them to enhance their economic status. She told them to also make maximum use of the items to reduce over dependence on their husbands for daily provisions.
The wife of the governor, said government will be encouraged to do more if the beneficiaries achieve the purpose for which the machine were intended.
