Five people died while over fifty others have been declared missing in a flood disaster that affected five local Government areas of Taraba State, even as the state Government is yet to respond to the situation.
The disaster came as a result of heavy rain fall and the release of water from a Dam in Cameroun Republic into River Benue.
It was gathered that farms and residential buildings along the bank of River Benue in Karim Lamido, Ardo kola, Gassol and Ibbi local Government Areas were washed away by flood, causing the missing of over 55 persons.
Worse affected communities include Amar. Ziff and Kambari in Karim Lamido,Tau and Mayo Renewo in Ardo kola local Government, as well as Mai gemu. Sheka and Kwatan Nanido in Gassol Local Government Areas.

TARABA State House of Assembly has issued impeachment notice on the deputy governor, Alhaji Abubakar Danladi, over allegation of gross misconduct.
The impeachment notice which contained five charges was endorsed by 19 out of the 23 members of the House, which was also made available to the New Nigerian, yesterday.
The law makers said they were relying on the powers conferred on the House by section 188(2) of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1999 as amended, to act against such misconduct alleged to have been committed by the deputy governor.
The five charges of gross misconduct against the deputy governor including the diversion of MDG facilities meant for the state which including the MDG, ICT centre and a motorized bolehole.
