From ABDULL-AZEEZ AHMED KADIR, Kaduna -- Following the overflow of its bank and the flooding of many parts which left several people displaced, Kaduna State Governor Patrick Yakowa has called for the dredging of River Kaduna to avert future accurrence. Yakowa who made the call yesterday after aerial assessment tour of the affected areas was in company of Ministers of Environment and Water Resources as well as the Director General of the National Emergency Management Agency in Kaduna. According to him, silting of the river and building of structures at the river bank, have over the years affected its free flow which made the river to take other course in form of tributaries. Security agents, especially the intelligence arm of the State Security Services have discovered documents and other plans meant to set up Kaduna Governor Sir Patrick Ibrahim Yakowa for purported presidential ambition to set him against political stakeholders in the country, religious leaders and prominent northern leaders.
